-
Clarity: Achieving those 'a-ha!' moments of understanding
-
Confidence: Boosting self-esteem and fostering engagement
-
Creativity: Encouraging enthusiastic exploration and creation
My Story
I am a singer, music and animal lover and educational enthusiast. I am a gentle co-parent to one neurodiverse, highly sensitive child, who is home educated, and I am inspired by Montessori education and other alternative methods of teaching such as Waldorf/Steiner and forest schools. I love to be outdoors in nature when the weather allows and enjoy exercise such as walking, yoga and dance.

I have an eclectic taste in music, literature and entertainment, which I honed at a young age. I have been singing since I could talk and was a multi-instrumentalist at the age of 8. Woodwind was always my forte, but I always sang as a hobby until I took up formal study at Key Stage 3. I started with classical and musical theatre singing before branching into folk, light opera, jazz and popular vocals. I have achieved in both Trinity and ABRSM singing grades.
I have had many opportunities to perform all over Europe, including premiering a number of works; singing at prestigious locations such as Westminster Abbey and Yorkminster, as well as locally and during my education; and vocalising in unusual circumstances such as The Salt Mines in Krakow and a 13th century church in France. I pursued more academic studies with my BA and MA degrees in Chichester, followed by my Music PGCE in Cardiff.
More recently my musical focus has been on tutoring, as I continue to provide vocal instruction, following 14 successful years of singing and music education.

I discovered my passion for working with neurodivergent people as a teaching assistant, which also involved some one-to-one teaching. I consolidated this with my Level 5 qualification for teaching SpLD learners, which informed me of learning differences and taught me strategies to support their needs. My personal emotional development and learning journey through parenting has enabled me to create a curiosity and engagement with difficulties that students face. This provides a foundation for trust and openness in lessons, which is the most effective way to achieve results for students.
